We love to see the Strider message getting out in all forms of local and national media. Has anybody run across; newspaper stories, local news coverage or photo essays, etc with Striders in them?

Ryan Found a good one today...He swears that he found the link to CelebrityBabyScoop through a Google alert! Check out the Q&A with Trista Sutter from the first season of the Bachelorette mentions her son's Strider in the "How Are the Kids doing?" section.

This q&a is hilarious. He doesn't talk about Strider, but there is a cute photo of his son with crazy hair and getting ready to ride his orange Strider!

The Strider World Cup races are breaking into the the BMX magazines! This month in "PULL" there was a nice blurb about theStrider Racing at the Midwest Nationals in Warsaw, Indiana. We love the caption, "When the flag drops, The Similac stops"! One of the advantages for USA BMX is getting the next generation or BMX racers into the game at an even earlier ageand help them skip the training wheels altogether!

Sarasota County’s BMX Track, 1590 North Tuttle Ave., Sarasota, will host the first-ever Strider World Championships, Oct. 14-15, for racers age 2-5 from North America, Europe, Asia and South America.
Spectator admission and parking for the event are free. Proceeds from vendor fees will support Suncoast Charities for Children, which benefits local children with special needs. In addition to World Championship races, the weekend will be filled with family friendly events and activities including:
    • free Strider test rides all weekend
    • free Strider loaner racing bikes (all toddlers who attend Friday night qualify to race)
    • Strider riding clinic with BMX Hall of Fame racers Greg Hill and John Purse
    • toddler best trick contest
    • adult Strider bike races
    • 2011 Florida and National Champion super boat “Team Velocity” will be on display, as well as super boat “Joyland.” Team members will sign autographs Saturday, noon – 1:30 p.m.
    • children's obstacle course by I Train Your Kids
    • face painting and balloon sculptures
    • food stations featuring healthy snacks for kids.
“The Sarasota BMX track has been here since 1974 and is one of the oldest and most popular destinations for the sport,” said John McCarthy, interim executive director, Sarasota County Community Services. “BMX is now an Olympic sport and Strider racing allows kids as young as 2 years old to begin their pursuit of Olympic gold.”
Strider bikes have no pedals, allowing toddlers as young as 18 months old to balance and ride on two wheels without the use of tricycles or training wheels.
“When toddlers learn to ride on a Strider bike, the experience opens up a whole new world of balance, self-confidence, motor skills, teamwork and friendly competition,” said Ryan McFarland, founder and CEO of Strider Sports International. “These children are having a blast and learning valuable life lessons every step of the way.”
The Strider World Championships joins the Thunder by The Bay Motorcycle Festival, the Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Festival, the Holiday Boat Parade of Lights, and the Carlton Fisk Celebrity Golf Classic as some of the most popular fundraising events in the region.
